Disposable vapes are becoming increasingly popular among new vapers. The market continues to grow and find new innovative e-cigs that provide customers with a convenient vaping experience.

Vape Pens

There are different models of e-cig, including so-called "vape pens" which resemble a pen and are easy to carry. They usually don't have many advanced settings and are more suitable for beginners who are just starting with e-cigs.

Box Mods

Then there are "box mods", which are the larger and more robust type of e-cig. This type of e-cig is aimed at "direct to lung / DTL" vaping and usually has advanced settings where you can set the wattage yourself. Why are e-cigs becoming more common?

E-cigs, most commonly known as vapes, are a well-known choice worldwide as an alternative to smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes, where the key idea has been "harm reduction". With the growing market and all the options for types of vapes and accessories, many vapers are also passionate about being able to, for example, mix their own e-liquids, build their own coils and customise their experience in a healthier way.

A trend that has become more common is the choice for a healthier everyday life; for example, there is increased interest in information about this in the availability of videos and blog posts concerning diet, exercise and other parts of life. You can find this in many places on the internet via news sites, social media, blogs and YouTube videos.

As people have become more critical about what they put into their bodies, some choose to remove tobacco cigarettes entirely from their routine or replace them with an e-cig. At present, unlike smoking tobacco cigarettes, not all the advantages or disadvantages of vaping have been conclusively determined. Research and discussions continue constantly and there are good arguments on both sides, but we look optimistically toward the future in this field.

In the article "E-cigarettes are a good alternative to continuing to smoke", published in 2014 by Anders Kjellberg, a specialist physician at Karolinska Hospital, it is written among other things that smokers know smoking tobacco is deadly and that e-cigs are the first type of product that can really compete with tobacco cigarettes. Because no long-term research had yet been done on the long-term effects, debates up to and during that period were experienced as unnuanced and generally sceptical about the benefits.

One advantage of vaping was noted in a previous 2015 study by the English health authority that vaping can be up to 95% less harmful than smoking regular tobacco cigarettes. A follow-up report from the same authority also concluded that the health risk associated with using e-cigs is significantly lower than smoking. It also pointed out that the potentially harmful chemicals found in both tobacco cigarettes and e-liquids are far fewer in e-liquids and present at lower levels.

What is an e-liquid?

E-liquid is the actual material and liquid used in the tank that is then vaporised in the coil of your vape. You can find several names for e-liquid; it is also called e-juice, vape juice, e-liquid and, as mentioned earlier, e-vätska.

On the market you will find thousands of different e-liquids in all sorts of flavours and nicotine strengths. Thanks to the large selection, you can find a better vaping experience! If you can't find your favourite flavour profile there are flavours, nicotine and base liquids if you want to mix your own e-juice from scratch!

There are different nicotine strengths to choose from when browsing our e-liquid range; you will find nicotine strengths of 3, 6, 12, and 18mg in our range. We also sell nicotine-free shortfills and so-called nicshots that allow the user to add nicotine themselves to the e-liquid to determine the nicotine strength, and there are different formulas and guides you can use (see image). This is a convenient way to buy e-liquid in larger volumes with nicotine. We have e-liquids in several different volumes and categories:

Ready-mixed e-juice 10ml

The ready-mixed e-liquids are available with or without nicotine, where the nicotine content ranges from 0mg up to 20mg per millilitre and usually varies in 3mg intervals (e.g. 0mg, 12mg and 18mg). Because there is a very wide selection of these, it's a convenient way to try new flavours or even nicotine-free e-liquids!

The reason why the volume is limited to a maximum of 10ml is due to the EU law TPD (Tobacco Products Directive) since 2018, which limits the bottle size for e-liquids that are sold and contain nicotine. If you want larger volumes of e-liquid we recommend shortfills, longfills or mixing the liquid yourself.

Shortfill

Shortfill bottles usually come in 60ml bottles, which are prefilled with 50ml of flavour and base liquid. But they can also be found in larger sizes such as 120ml bottles, which have room for 20ml of base liquid with or without nicotine depending on what you want. Both shortfills and longfills therefore do not contain nicotine, but if desired you can top up the bottle with nicshots that contain both base liquid and nicotine.

For e-liquids there are also, contrary to expectation, nicotine-free "nicshots" which make it easier to mix and dilute the liquid. This is done so that the flavour concentrates do not become too concentrated in the e-juice. A nicotine-free "nicshot" is essentially base liquid but in a smaller bottle.

Longfill

Like shortfills, you will also find longfill bottles on the market. These differ slightly from the more common shortfill bottles which typically come in 60ml bottles, but longfills contain only 20ml of flavour concentrate mixed in PG. You are meant to mix in a base liquid that contains VG/PG; if you want nicotine you also mix in a nicshot.

The advantage of longfills is that you get more space in the bottle to mix according to your own needs for nicotine strength, VG/PG ratio and flavour. For example, you can add more base liquid to influence the VG/PG further, add more or fewer nicshots if you want a stronger or weaker nicotine level. It is a suitable alternative for those who want to refine their vape strategy and experience.

Mixing Shortfill

Start by removing the caps from both the shortfill and the nicshot. Inside the shortfill cap you also need to remove the filling pipette. There are special tools for this but a fingernail or pliers work just as well. Then pour in the desired strength and amount of nicshot. Afterwards put on the filling pipette and screw on the cap. Shake thoroughly and let the liquid rest for 10-30 minutes. The result is 60ml of e-juice with a nicotine strength of 3mg/ml (The example is if you use 50ml e-juice and 10ml nicotine 18mg)

Using E-cigs

All vapes & e-cigs are different but they are used in roughly the same way even though there are differences between types of e-cigs. To use a vape/e-cig you need e-liquid which you pour into the tank of the e-cig. Once the e-liquid is in the tank you only need to press the button on your e-cig/vape and inhale from the mouthpiece to produce vapor. The market is young and constantly changing. We see many new innovative products and suppliers trying to enter the market.

The vape industry is partly a trend industry, which means that creative and innovative products emerge within vaping & e-cigs. It is therefore difficult to point out exactly how to use your particular vape. When you purchase an e-cig it comes with a user manual and there is also a digital manual available to download via the product information.

What is the vapor in an e-cig / vape?

The vapor in your e-cig is defined as "a substance diffused or suspended in the air, originally a liquid or solid converted to a gaseous state." The vapor in an e-cig is the gaseous form of one of the vaping materials. The vapor looks thicker than ordinary smoke, but smells much better and disperses quickly in the air. There are many questions and debates about whether the vapor in an e-cig is dangerous or harmless. Research suggests that vaping or using an e-cig is less harmful than tobacco cigarettes. The e-cig market is still young and there is not yet enough research available.

E-cig vs Smoking

This is the biggest question regarding e-cigs and how safe they are to use. The science and support for vaping is mixed as to whether it could be safer and whether there is any significant difference compared to smoking tobacco cigarettes. Public health experts from the USA and around the world have not concluded all the potential benefits or risks of vaping and the evidence is still limited, but it does indicate a possible reduction in health risk.

In a previous study by the English health authority, it was claimed that vaping and e-cigs can be up to 95% less harmful than smoking regular tobacco cigarettes. In a follow-up report from the same authority in England it was also concluded that the health risks associated with e-cigs are very low and significantly lower than tobacco cigarettes. They also point out that of the chemicals found in traditional tobacco cigarettes as well as e-liquids, e-liquids contain significantly fewer and at lower levels.
