If you are unsure which e-liquid to choose, this post will provide you with all the information you need so that you know which e-liquid to choose. There are a few things to consider in order to maximize your vaping experience with the right properties.

When talking about e-juice, or so-called e-liquid, there are four properties to keep in mind before deciding to make a purchase. If you are a new vaper, you may not be familiar with these properties, but after reading this post you will have all the information you need to help you decide which e-liquid to choose.

NOTE! The post takes approximately 4 minutes to read; we recommend reading the entire post to get the best understanding of which e-liquid to choose.

The four properties

  • The thickness of the e-liquid
  • Ohm rating of the coil
  • Nicotine content
  • Flavor profile

The thickness of the e-liquid plays a major role

There are different thicknesses of e-liquids on today's vape market, and thickness is very important. The thickness is measured by the VG and PG content in the vape juice. It is worth mentioning that an e-liquid is always 100%, and the VG/PG combination will always add up to 100%.

Example: 65VG / PG 35, 50VG / 50PG

VG, which stands for Vegetable Glycerin, is a main ingredient in e-juice. Depending on the VG content, the vegetable glycerin determines how thick the e-liquid will be. The higher the VG content in your e-liquid, the more power (watts) is required to vaporize the e-juice.

At a VG content above 70, we recommend Direct-to-Lung Vaping

PG stands for Propylene Glycol and is also a main ingredient in e-liquid. Depending on how much PG your e-liquid contains, this ingredient determines how runny the e-liquid will be and also gives the e-liquid a stronger flavor / throat hit when inhaled.

At a PG content of or above 50, we recommend Mouth-to-Lung Vaping

There are many different VG/PG ratios on today's vape market, but there are some guidelines to follow depending on which style of vaping you practice. If you are completely new to vaping, there are two different styles: Mouth-to-Lung and Direct-to-Lung, which we explain a little further down.

Ohm rating of the coil

Every e-cigarette uses a coil to vaporize the e-liquid contained in the tank. Usually, there are several different coils to choose from for your e-cigarette, and below we will list our recommendations for which ohm rating to use in relation to the VG/PG content of the e-liquid.

Ohm rating for e-liquid with a VG content below 70

For an e-liquid with a VG content below 70, we recommend using a coil above 1.0 ohm for the best experience.

Coils with an ohm rating above 1.0 ohm are normally classified as MTL

Ohm rating for e-liquid with a VG content above 70

For e-juice with a VG content of 70 or above, we recommend a so-called sub-ohm coil, which corresponds to an ohm rating below 1.0, such as 0.3 ohm or 0.15 ohm

Coils with an ohm rating below 1.0 ohm are classified as DTL or so-called Sub-ohm

What is Mouth-to-Lung vaping?

Mouth-to-Lung vaping is abbreviated as MTL and is usually popular among vapers who prefer low vapor production and the feeling of smoking a regular cigarette. For this type of vaping, we recommend a VG content of either 50VG or 60VG. This type of vaping is recommended if you are going to quit smoking.

An MTL e-cigarette operates at low power and is usually used at around 10-30 watts

What is Direct-to-Lung vaping?

Direct-to-Lung (DTL) is the opposite of MTL, meaning that this style of vaping focuses on producing large clouds and better flavor production, as the e-cigarette is used at higher power levels (watts). For this type of vaping, we recommend a VG content above 70VG for the best experience.

Once you know which style of vaping you prefer, it is time to decide which e-liquid to choose. In our range of e-liquids, we have categorized our e-liquids to make it easier for you as a consumer to choose among all our hundreds of e-liquids.

Here you can find e-liquid for MTL vaping

Here you can find e-liquid for DTL vaping

A DTL e-cigarette is used at high power levels and is usually operated at around 50-220 watts

The nicotine content of the e-liquid

If you use nicotine e-juice, the nicotine content is also very important, and here too it matters which type of vaping you use. Below, we list our recommendations for nicotine content for MTL or DTL vaping. It is also possible to choose a completely nicotine-free e-liquid with the designation "0 mg".

Nicotine content for MTL vaping

When practicing MTL vaping, you can generally use higher nicotine levels, as you normally use an electronic cigarette at low power. Usually, the power is around 10-30 watts when using MTL vaping, and a smaller amount of e-liquid is vaporized with each inhalation.

For MTL vaping, we recommend a nicotine content of between 6 mg, 12 mg, and 18mg for the best experience.

Nicotine content for DTL vaping

With DTL vaping, you produce a larger amount of vapor and vaporize more e-liquid with each inhalation. As a rule, you should use a lower nicotine content in your e-liquid when practicing DTL vaping, as the experience can become overwhelming when producing a lot of vapor. It can feel very strong in the throat, which will result in a lot of coughing.

For DTL vaping, we recommend a lower nicotine content, preferably 3mg or 6mg

Choose the flavor you like for the best experience

In the vaping world, there are endless flavors and flavor combinations, and many different manufacturers mix e-liquid differently. In other words, every mango flavor may not taste the same, which is very exciting, but it can cause problems if you are a new vaper and expect your newly purchased mango flavor to be tart but it is not. You have to experiment and find your favorite flavor.

You can also create your own e-juice if you wish. There are a few things to consider; you can read our previous post where we inform you about how to mix your own e-liquid. We have also created a nic shot guide that guides you on the right amount of nicotine to achieve the correct nicotine content.
