Menthol cigarettes disappearing - but not e-juice & snus
Menthol cigarettes will disappear from the product range of tobacco retailers throughout Sweden on May 20, 2020. On April 6, the Riksdag voted to ban all flavoured cigarettes and roll-your-own tobacco in Sweden, meaning that all sales of flavoured cigarettes & roll-your-own tobacco will cease on May 20, 2020.
Sales of e-juice & snus, on the other hand, will not cease.
Why are menthol cigarettes disappearing?
The government has decided that all flavoured cigarettes target young people and lure them into nicotine & tobacco addiction. According to statistics, a high proportion of young people consume menthol cigarettes, which is why the government has made this decision.
Our view on this is very positive, as it may encourage smokers to put down their cigarettes and quit smoking cigarettes for good, which is very positive for public health in general.

Gabriel Wikström, Sweden's Minister for Public Health, Healthcare and Sport, made a welcome post on social media celebrating the fact that important measures are being taken to reduce smoking.
Sales of flavoured e-juice & snus will not be discontinued
Sales of e-juice & snus containing menthol / mint flavour will not be discontinued. This is also something that we at Cigge view positively, as these products can help tobacco smokers find a more healthier alternative to tobacco cigarettes.
What do you think about this? What is your opinion on menthol cigarettes being banned on May 20?
