If you are new to e-cigarettes, have been using e-cigarettes for a while, or want to switch to e-cigarettes, you may have thoughts or questions that you want answered. Here we will go through as much as we can.

Is there an e-cigarette where you don't have to replace anything?

This is a question we have often received, and the answer is no; you always have to replace something after a while, a coil, a battery, or a "filter" like the ones cigalikes have (which look like a regular cigarette).

Are there disposable e-cigarettes?

This is also a question that comes up quite often. Yes, there are, but we currently do not have disposable e-cigarettes in our range. Pre-filled pods (containers) can be considered disposable e-cigarettes; when the pod is empty, you simply take a new one and continue using the same battery until you need to charge it.

Why is there a price difference between nicotine-free e-juices and e-juices with nicotine?

The reason for the price difference is that the government introduced an excise tax on e-liquid containing nicotine; the excise tax is 2 SEK/ml.

Can I use my e-cigarette indoors?

This is a question that is difficult to answer now that the new smoking ban comes into effect on July 1; we will be prohibited from using e-cigarettes in our stores, and there will be a ban in other public places such as restaurants. At home, you decide, but if you live in an apartment, either your landlord or the housing association you live in has rules regarding smoking. My advice is to treat your e-cigarette like a regular cigarette.

How much does it cost?

Starting to use e-cigarettes may feel like a high cost and may cause many people to regret it. Starting involves a one-time cost, and after that it becomes cheaper since you have bought the starter kit. There are different starter kits in different price ranges, but here we will calculate based on an eGo AIO starter kit: 249 SEK for the starter kit, and then you need e-juice. If you want nicotine-free, it costs an additional 39 SEK; if you want nicotine, it costs between 54–64 SEK depending on which e-juice brand you choose.

Nicotine-free package 249+39=288 SEK

Package with nicotine 249+54=303 SEK

If you want several e-juices or extra coils/heating elements, you can buy them, but here is the cost of getting started very simply and seeing whether it is something for you.

How much will it cost per month?

After you have bought your starter kit, your monthly cost will be fairly low: 1 package of coils/heating elements per month and approximately 2 bottles of e-juice per week with fairly high usage.

1 package of coils/heating elements for the eGo AIO 99 SEK

2 bottles of e-juice 78 SEK without nicotine

2 bottles of nicotine 108 SEK with nicotine.

For nicotine-free use 99 SEK+78x4=411 SEK

For use with nicotine 99 SEK+108x4=531 SEK

The monthly cost may vary, as it is difficult to know exactly how much each individual person uses. We can calculate what 1 pack of cigarettes per day costs per month if one pack costs 60 SEK. 60x30=1800 SEK

Can you really quit smoking with the help of e-cigarettes?

Yes, you can. It is like anything else: you must have the will to quit cigarettes. If you do not have the will, it may be difficult.

Can my e-cigarette turn on by itself?

If you do not turn off or lock your e-cigarette before placing it in a bag or pocket, it can turn on and start vaporizing the e-juice. All e-cigarettes have a timer that switches off after 8–10 seconds so that you do not take too long a puff, but during these seconds your coil/heating element can burn and your e-cigarette can become very hot. It is important to turn it off if you are going to put it away.

What is the difference between MTL (Mouth To Lung) and DL (Direct Lung)?

The difference is that MTL should resemble how you smoke a regular cigarette, with more discreet vapor, lower wattage, and usually a higher nicotine strength, whereas DL produces more vapor and uses a lower nicotine strength and higher wattage. When using an e-cigarette designed for DL, you essentially inhale the vapor directly, and it may take a little while to get used to.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a built-in battery?

The advantages are that you do not need to buy batteries when purchasing a new e-cigarette; you can simply charge it via USB.

The disadvantages of a built-in battery are that when the battery runs out, you have to charge your e-cigarette, and we do not recommend using it while it is charging. You can only charge it via USB. If the battery is completely discharged and cannot be charged again, you have to buy an entirely new e-cigarette.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of external batteries?

The advantages of external batteries are that you can simply switch to a new battery when the battery runs out, and you can carry several batteries with you. If your battery runs out and cannot be charged again, you can simply buy a new one. Our batteries cost 89 SEK.

The disadvantages of external batteries are that it is recommended to buy a battery charger, which many people may consider an unnecessary expense even though it is better for your batteries and your e-cigarette, since the batteries receive a more balanced charge in a battery charger, giving them a longer lifespan.

Why do you recommend charging external batteries in a battery charger?

Charging external batteries in a battery charger is better for your e-cigarette and your batteries. If you charge your e-cigarette with external batteries via USB, it puts strain on the chip in your e-cigarette and can also cause your batteries to become unbalanced and have a shorter lifespan. It is also faster to charge your batteries in a battery charger.

Can all e-juices be used with all e-cigarettes?

The answer to that question is both yes and no, since the smaller bottles of e-juice have a VG/PG ratio of 60/40 or 50/50 VG/PG, and these are best suited for smaller e-cigarettes such as the eGo AIO, pod systems, or an MTL setup. You can then use a higher nicotine strength, whereas the larger bottles usually have a VG/PG ratio of 70/30 VG/PG or higher VG. These are then used with a lower nicotine strength and are best suited for larger e-cigarettes designed for DL.

Why are there different VG/PG ratios in e-juices?

There are different VG/PG ratios so that e-juices are better adapted to a certain type of use, either MTL or DL. VG is the part of the e-juice that is viscous; the more VG the e-juice contains, the more viscous it is, and the larger the vapor clouds. PG, on the other hand, is very thin, so naturally the more PG there is in the e-juice, the more fluid it is. PG is also a flavor carrier and provides that "throat hit" when you have an e-juice with more PG. Therefore, 50/50 e-juices are best suited for smaller e-cigarettes and MTL vaping.
